I have done it now!
« on: March 04, 2007, 08:57:01 PM »
Just joined the board and I am in the process of buying a CB400f. I have a couple of bikes that I am looking at and really need the stress (relief?) a restoration project will bring.  I have restored several bikes over the years and I am really looking forward to this. I travel about 48 weeks a year but I am home on the weekends. I have been riding for 36 years and raced motocross professionally in 1975. Since then, I have raised 3 kids, put two through college and a wife in grad school for 10 years. I think its about time for me. Thanks for letting me ramble. I have already learned a quick lesson  from the board. Always check to see what is available through the dealers before buying off of ebay. Some of these parts are really high, but if you can't find them.... Thanks again everyone and thanks for answering all of the dumb questions in advance.

Excellent! Another old guy. Where are you located?
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

I live in the Kansas City area. I travel from one end of the country to the other. North, South, East and West. There are a lot of really great threads and I cant' wait to get started.

Hey mx, welcome!  Perhaps it's not the stress relief that SOHC/4's provide as much as it is the stress transferral to something that is controllable and manageable. ;)
