Power Arc CD2 Ignition CB750 K6

Hello,
I recently purchased a cb750 k6 and found it has a power arc IDS. I am unsure how to set my timing with it if I need to since I can't find TDC as the old markings and plates are removed in place of this new ignition. Anything helps. Thanks.

You will likely need a TDC piston-stop tool and a conversation with another user.

Did the seller include the stock parts, especially the advancer? It has the Top dead center mark. You are supposed to rotate the motor to the T mark, then remove the advancer and install the Power Arc parts and rotate the wheel until the led lights up. If you don't have the stock advancer, then you will have to resort to other means to find TDC. The seller of the PA once recommended using a soda straw through the spark plug hole when a member here got stranded on the road. There is No way to check the PA timing dynamically with a timing light.
Now, be warned, the Power Arc system is discontinued due to it's lack of reliability, and there is no support for them. I wouldn't trust one any further than I would be willing to push my bike unless I had towing insurance, especially if it's hot; the member I mentioned had two of them fail, and both times it was in the Arizona heat.

There’s a seller on eBay that makes a really nice TDC indicator. It’s convenient as heck with that stupid thing.
On a side note, that ignition is HOT GARBAGE. I have one on my 650. Died on me in fall coming to a light at a bad intersection despite having a vented timing cover. Made me miss class (Cut holes on the forward and rear sides to flow air over it)
The multispark gave me like a soft limiter that struggled to build revs over 7k under load.
I really liked the possibilities with it. The features are cool, the possibilities of setting up a quick shifter, retarding timing with boost or load or something. I even made my own rotary switch to flip maps on the fly.
I would advise you to get rid of that thing. If you’re really into keeping it, I have the cable to tune it and that rotary switch since I’m getting rid of it.

Just figure out how many degrees past TDC to rotate for valves and chain adjustment (I think its 15 per Hondaman) and set up a small sharpie mark on your case inside the ignition cover. Rotate to TDC then to that mark, check 4 of the 8 valves and cam chain, then rotate again to that spot and check the other 4 valves and finish the cam chain tension adjustment.
All you gotta do is do what you gotta do.
