CB 750 chain oiler.

Can someone tell me if i am missing a seal here? I took it apart due to an oil leak and it doesn't look right. The only thing in thr countershaft is s gold coloured "screen".

You need the rubber seal on end of adjusting screw.

1975 K5 Planet Blue my summer ride, it was a friend's bike I worked with at the Honda shop in 76, lots of fun to be on it again
1976 K6 Anteres Red rebuilding project, was originally my brother's that I set up from the crate, it'll breath again soon!

2008 GL1800 my daily ride and cross country runner

Prior bikes....
1972 Suzuki GT380 I had charge of it for a year in 1973 while my friend was deployed and learned to love street riding....
New CB450 K7 after my friend returned...
New CB750 K5 Planet Blue, demise by ex cousin in law at 9,000 miles...
New CB750 K6 Anteres Red, to replace the totaled K5, I sold this K6 at 45k in 1983, I had heavily modified it, many great memories on it and have missed it greatly.....

That looks like it could be made from a short piece of vacuum hose?

The oiler plug ends with a triangular shaped washer.
Both my bikes have stock still working. My K6 same since the very beginning and still working.
It has went off-on many times during the years.
It would be handy with a slim stop sealing plug with internal allen.

Never to be removed when lifting front sprocket.

Looks like it's not available anymore, according to two dealers here in Canada. I see i can "block" off the oiler. What are the best options? I was thinking of just buying a bolt that will cover the side hole and just using thread sealer. Anyone tried something like that?

There are post here where people have done just that. Then use a good chain lube. I use PJ1 Blue Label most bike shops and auto parts stores sell it. The lube stays put and works good  Orings or not even in the rain. It is clear not blue.  ??? https://pj1.com/products/

The best model I have seen. Plug and forget.
No need to remove it when taking off the sprocket.

No o-ring or other seal needed?

I read a post last week on this and thread sealer on the threads will not stop the flow. You have to plug the hole in the shaft. Unfortunately I didn't save the post.

I made that six years ago, as part of my never ending quest to shed weight, as well as block the oiler. ;)

The o-ring was about 12.4 mm which was a little big, but all i had at work. The spacer I made at 11.8mm.  I cut a 45 degree chamfer on the side that presses against the seal. I believe the bore in the countershaft is 12mm, but i didn't accurately measure it.

I went for a ride last night and left it on the side stand.  I guess i will see tonight if it leaked.

So you put the oring in 1st to the center bore then your milled spacer on the end of the adjuster shaft?

Scottly, there is no rubber seal/ bottom under that plug? Sealing the oil supply via the porous metal thing and block the hole where oil comes out.
