MARTEK 440 NEWBIE

I found an instruction sheet for wiring one of these to a CB750. So i have one of these 440s and want to put on a 1978 Suzuki GS1000. Since both are inline 4s with 2 coils and use the waste spark principle am i correct in my assumption that its the same wiring as shown for the CB??

Black to any switched 12 volt source? Or black to a ground?  Im assuming its to a 12 volt wire to supply the unit its power??  Am i on the right road? And obviously one of the other wires hoes to the left coil and one to the right.  Ive searched and googled for days and cant find anything GS1000 specific.   I dont want to hook a wire up and turn the key and see smoke.

Assuming the GS used points the 440 should work. And assuming the rotor fits somehow. You want switched power for it. I don't know how the GS will mount that rotor - it's pretty specific to the Honda advancer, I think.

Yes it was points originally. Rotor fits same as the honda does. Everythings mounted. just want to be absolutely positive which wire is the 12 supply wire so i dont fry it. Obviously if i have the 2  wires going to the coils all i need to do there is swap them around. I was at the bike this morning and forgot to look at what the other 2 color wires were. I do know theres 3 wires coming from the ignitoin module.

Martek used a red wire... Why? Who knows. But it is a coil wire as shown in the instructions.
Black goes to key on power. They suggest the brake light switch feed but any switched power should be ok. The Honda brakelight switch is on the MAIN fuse so that a blown lighting fuse won't kill the ignition. I don't know your wiring but a main fuse power source would be best.
