Just watched Mad Max...
« on: March 07, 2007, 11:02:25 PM »
It was the original never-released-in-the-USA "Australian Language" version, too.  Why they ever overdubbed everyone's voice I will never understand...  The original unaltered soundtrack makes it SOOO much better.

And man, do I want a KZ1000 now!  I know, it's a DOHC...  but that thing is a monster!  And I would love to "Max out" an old 77 or 78 KZ  ;D

It would blow the pants off my little CB650, that's for sure!

I nearly bought the remains of one of the original Mad Max bikes at a swap meet only 3 or 4 years ago mate, possibly the only CB750 iin the movie, (but I haven't seen it for 20 years so don't hold me to that) it was a Norton Featherbed frame, with spoked alloy rimmed wheels and a race tank, but it had been modified for a CB750 engine.

I never found out how much it was as the seller had left his wife in charge while he checked out the swap, and she had no idea what he wanted for it. Pity, it would have been a nice piece of memorabilia. Cheers, Terry.  ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

I noticed there WAS a Honda in the mix when the gang all pulls up to the town to see NightRider's casket (before they beat the crap out that that hot rod).  And it's the only time I saw it, too.

That would have been a nice find, Terry  :D

That movie made me want a kz1000 too - I got close with my 77 kz700  but the damn thing blew up. Wish I'd rebuilt it now instead of trading "up" to a gpz 750...
That's like hypnotizing chickens...

Could have sworn I saw some Comstars in that scene as well. Never did get a good look at the bike though.
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame
