CB400F Oil Pump Condition
« on: December 15, 2022, 02:43:20 PM »
I need a new oil pump (old one ate itself) and I'm looking at ones on ebay. There are plenty for sale but this is the only one that shows a pic of the inside. Can anyone tell me if this impeller surface is good enough to use?

You really need to inspect the rotors, they can sustain quite a bit of damage that together with a worn housing determine its overall condition. You'll need to look at both. Don't be surprised if you end up looking at several be fore you find a good one.

Here's the link. I think they look good. What do you think? Like I was saying before this is the only one currently available that actually shows pics of it disassembled.

At least the price is reasonable.

Looks decent, though the 2 screws that hold it together are missing
