Rear wheel offset?
« on: May 25, 2023, 01:41:57 PM »
Does the 1972 CB500 rear wheel have an offset?  My son and I bought a bike as a project but it is completely in pieces. It came with the hub and rims and we need to rebuild the hub and put spokes on.

If you mean hub to rim, I'd say no offset.
No matter how many times you paint over a shadow, it's still there.

Thanks!
Clarify and answer the questions you have been asked. Others will need to know later on what the heck did that guy want to know and didn't give a hoot about what others  have asked of him to be clear ..........

FYI, all you have to do is look at a parts diagram. Several sites such as CMSNL.com have them. Also, there is a tech doc section here with service manual and other useful info.

Yeah, but they'll show if there's a spacer or collar, which is what I was referring to.

AFAIK no japanese bikes have an offset. It was a was easier to set the wheels without offsets and use a spacer to adjust the alignment laterally .
