Oil Pressure Gauges 500 vs 750 Compatibility Question
« on: June 17, 2023, 05:53:08 PM »
I am wanting to know if an oil pressure gauge for a 750 will work on a 500/550 Four. There seem to be plenty of gauges for the 750s but not for the 500/550 Fours.

There's a risk of leakage. I'd abstain. It's a gadget. Never seen or heard of a CB500/550 that needed one.

Thank you for the replies.

If you can find a way to install it, it's a great thing to have.  I check mine quite often and based on the idle oil pressure it also tells me if the engine is fully warmed up.

What oil pressure is considered warmed up?

Around 20 psi, it does not get lower than unless I stop for too long.   On long descends - like from Skyline Drive down on Virginia 211 - I shift to neutral and watch the pressure creep up to 30 psi.  I am easily amused  ;D
