Topic: Issue with idle when engine hot on CB350F

I recently acquired a 1973 CB350F and have a problem with the idle.  The bike starts and runs well, however, after it warms up the idle drops way low and it often dies at stop signs.  What are some things to check on which may remedy this problem.

Start with checking the sparkplugs: see if one or more might be fouled.
Check the valve lash (clearance) on all 8 valves.
Check the ignition timing. If the points gap has closed down somewhat from points wear then the timing will be slow. Then it will act much like you describe.

For some reason I have seen this on quite some CB350Fs. Check the cam is (lightly) lubed. Is that little felt still there?
