Topic: Does anybody know what the coil terminal pictured is called ? VW Jetta coil

Our coils here in USA as far as I know do not use any connector like that.

I'd like to get a set with wires long enough to cut for my purposes and put my own choice of ends for the spark plugs. The Jetta set typically includes one really short wire, example here

so I'd like a more universal set. Knowing what to call the coil terminal might help :-).

I ended up buying a 6 cylinder set to fiddle with, should be enough "stuff" included to make a 4 cyl set out of.

 I looked at a dozen or so sets of VW Jetta wires at Summit Racing and didn't see them list any special terminology that describes those ends.
 I'd guess that must be just male HEI.

Naa it is weird, now there is a "maybe" that it is like modern LS coils but I have not been able to nail that down for sure. It is more or less like the terminal inside the typical 750K spark plug terminal designed to fasten onto the male thread on the OEM spark plug. I went batshirt trying to find a name for the thing too and still not finding it.

I'll post up pictures of the Jetta wires when I get them and some dimensions, if they do or do not fit :-).

 I've only found Audi/Volkswagon as a description. I'd assume Bosch has something to do with it.

My presumption is that the proper name is down some rabbit hole that most of us have not been into yet :-). Finding the connectors for MC and automotive engine management stuff can be a real challenge sometimes. Especially when the part you have in hand is for a bike or other vehicle that is not imported into your country :-).

Bosch product specifications for that coil state that it’s an SAE connector.

It looks like the set of plug wiresI ordered might be sitting on my porch at home when I get home from work :-).

These do fit and snap in nice. Inner dia is 4.1mm, depth is 8.1mm. The white material is some type of insulator.

Looking down into the coil tower with a 4mm usb endoscope reveals that the connection post appears to have features that allow the terminal pictured to snap over and be held by that spring clip, more or less the outside end is bigger with an undercut behind it. Having a junk coil to section would reveal more details.

Grabbed a GM LS coil from O'Rielly and the plug wires fit it as well.

Those look much like the connection inside an NGK plug cap where the connection is made to the threaded top of a spark plug.

Hmm Dr gookle is telling me that the threads on the terminal end of a spark plug are either M4 or 8-32 (.164")...that would fit I bet...but that insulator section is more specific to a coil tower maybe ??

 All I found is ads with Beru plug wire ends. After I searched it they began popping up on the internet.
