CB550 Front sprocket swap
« on: January 24, 2024, 07:37:19 am »
I bought a 16 tooth front sprocket for my bike. It is noticeably smaller than the stock sprocket. Does this entail adjusting the back wheel, or buying a smaller chain?

I would try adjusting the rear wheel location first. If you find there is not enough adjustment to correctly tension the chain, I’d check the wear of the chain itself. Should be a specification for measuring the chain in the owners or service manual. If the chain is not worn out, you can remove two links to shorten it.
