New From New England
« on: February 01, 2024, 06:59:56 AM »
I'm 67 and from southern Massachusetts between Fall river And Providence, RI. I've Been trying to join this forum for 2 years but they ask a qualifying question and I could not get the correct answer. They finally asked a question that I could find an answer and here I am. I ride a 2019 Yamaha MT10. Been a motorcyclist since I was about 13. I'm a lifetime backyard mechanic and love working on motorcycles as much as I like riding them. I'm currently in the middle of building a 77 Honda CB550F into a tracker style bike and have a thread in the project section. Looking forward to hearing from everybody.

Welcome to the forum Chester.  It's a nice friendly place with loads of good info and knowledgeable users.  I've been riding the same old 1974 CB550 since high school, I'll pop in and check out your project thread!

You will regret the bikes you DIDN'T buy much more than the ones you DID!!!  It's never too late to start a new adventure!

This is a helluva welcome on a motorcycle forum. I'm gonna enjoy this place. I'm a bit caustic and opinionated but I think I'm pretty stand up.

Hey Denward: I just booked my motorcycle vacation in June down in Burnsville NC with a bunch of friends from the MT09 forum group. Those roads down there are such a blast to ride.  We're also going to take a day from there and go up to Virginia to ride The Back of the Dragon again. I'm the old guy in front.

You'll love those roads.  I've hit them in my Miata, but not on the bike yet.

I got a build thread going in Projects. I've been working on it for a while wasn't on this site. This is a picture of the CB550 rear wheel next to my MT10 wheel.
