Well, i believe I've figured out the source of the electrical problem with the Honda. Ipulled it out of the trailer and set it up on the stands the other night. I wanted to troubleshoot the wiring, particular the terminated connections at the battery and the main power switch. I used unsoldered crimp connections years ago and its worked without fail since then. I decided to start at the battery. I had the battery charging most of the day with a "smart charger" but noticed it was turning on and off for some reason. I disconnected the clamps and used a voltage metter to see if the battery was fully charged. The dang thing was sitting at 11.5volts, WTH?? I have no charging system onboard, its total looss but i do charge the battery in between rounds. In hindsight i never remember checking the charge status before i went to staging because i assumed everything was near 100%. The battery is only a year old so what couldgowrong??. Ummmmm, big mistake as i look backwards and definitely not my usual way of doing things. I'm going to pick up another battery tomorrow and do some testing on Saturday. Hopefully there is a parasitic loss in the wiring at this point but I'll return to my normal routine of using the multimeter regularly. Yeap, even a long time racer can trip himself up when neglecting the simple stuff. Never assume.
By the way, although i didn't win the 2023 championship, i did pick up a little hardware for my 2nd place finish in the V twin class
