 It appears Jay Eshbach has passed away, reported on RC Legacy's facebook page.

I had many face to face conversations with Jay....also with his wife when she would join him at Valdosta. Two terrific people. It was always fun though a bit challenging to speak with Jay as he was pretty hard of hearing. ;D He will be missed by many, many people.

Wow, I sure will miss him!
He was one smart, shrewd thinker when it came to making good parts, too.
We've lost a big man in the sport. :(

His impact on motorsports has been felt far and wide and will continue for some time to come. Russ Jr. has a museum piece under construction (almost done!) in the form of the triple that contains contributions from both Jay Eshbach as well as one of our other recently departed resident guru Kieth Byers, so parts of them will live on.  8)

Oh man, I’m sorry to hear. I have long wanted my Honda to include some of the goods APE made for our old bikes. I’m fortunate enough to say I had a brief email conversation regarding my crank just this year, and look forward to putting some of his craftsmanship on the road this spring.

Big thanks to Jay and his contributions to our world.

Great guy, helped me out with both hotrod CB750 and Z1 parts, very sad that he’s gone. RIP mate.

Sad news. Found posts about it today.
Another important historical person of CB750 upgrades leaving us too early.

I'll miss his posts about go fast parts, how they are made and began. Like the early 836 kits based on CB350 pistons.

I hope APE as a company will continue and prosper.

I'll have Jay in my mind when riding my K6 that have APE stamped parts inside.
