John, I saw the side wood 'fences' you made for it;that will help to have something to use to bungee large branches over the top also,when you need to.

Bill…… truthfully I had the table saw out and the leftover wood. Was looking for something to do with it and the UTV was sitting right there! That bin on the back had the six stake pockets and there was just enough wood. They need some sealer and red paint.

I suspect my wife will destroy them, next time she massively overloads the box. I did pick up a small 4’ X 4’ box trailer a few months ago(needs some work). This thing has an excellent hitch and will easily pull it around.

Visibility is excellent, enhanced by a fold down wind screen. Initially I found the ride VERY stiff, until I dropped the tire pressures from 25 to 6-8 psi and it’s much improved!

Bill…. We just took it about a kilometre across our backfields to the hiking trails on our neighbour’s 200 acres of woods. The load of fire wood in the back really improves the traction in deep snow. May have to keep it full all winter!

Happened to have 1/2 a can of that red and it worked out well! Looks better balanced with some colour out back.

That plastic box is bolted to an angle iron frame that has only two large “hinge” bolts about 2/3 of the way back. There is a spring loaded locking latch up front. Even with the weight of all that wood, it’s quite easy to flip down the tailgate and dump.

I have a pile of 1.25” steel tubing that I scrounged some time ago. Thinking the next project might be to weld up a larger “flatbed” style deck for moving around larger stuff……..

Will the plastic box be able to bolt-up to the new tube deck and dump;be nice to have the option for both.

The existing boxe unit comes off with two large bolts through the hinge points. I’ll make them interchangeable.

Did it make it any quieter? Mine has a smaller unit (Subaru 650cc Twin) facing straight back, with a smaller spark arrestor can on the back. It looks to be in good shape, but I wish it was a bit less noisy.

It's quieter no doubt. The old muffler was broke in several places.

Well done. Mine is a standard can, about 1’ long and 10” in dia. I’m going to look for something about the same size and try an “upgrade”.

When I bought this from the rental company several years ago it had 2 different tire brands and tread patterns on it. The front were 4 ply and the rear 6 ply. I constantly had issues with side wall punctures so I purchased heavy duty 10 ply tires and so far no flats

I’m sure mine is still on the O.E. tires. When I first got it they were at about 25 psi and the ride was brutal. I think I have them down to about 8 psi and the ride is much improved!!
