Topic: Web camshafts for 550.......

If you've ran one in a 550, how is it?  Which grind (58a or 58b)?  Performance notes, lope at idle, mileage, or other oddities?  For conversation sake......

58a = .330'' lift / 255 deg duration @ .050'' lift
58b = .330'' lift / 265 deg   ''         ''     ''

I'm refreshing my 550 with one of those ebay 605cc kits, ported cyl head, 4-1 exhaust, etc- so I'd like to have a good cam to go along with it.  I called them today and the lady on the phone said that the 58b is more of a high RPM profile with a some loss in power down low.

This is a street bike, so I'd like to preserve low end grunt (what little there is), so I'm thinking the 58a profile would be better.  Thoughts before I send in my core?

I have been wandering if the WEBCAM aftermarket cam was worth it.

 I will be watching for the response,  just trying to decide if I want to get in the motor with my current build, it only had 12,000 miles on it

I bought a 58a through Buzz at Dynoman.net and expect it this week. Buzz likes this cam for street purposes, with a bump in compression he feels this grind falls between the original Yosh street special and a lumpier race cam. It's been said often here this guy Buzz is top notch and besides you'll pay less buying the cam through him. He has (or he did have) a regrind 58a on the shelf.

I bought a hardweld to go with the 61mm pistons.
