Newbie from NW Pa
« on: October 08, 2024, 05:52:21 AM »
Hello all, having just joined this site I'll introduce myself. I'm not new to restorations, but this is my first Honda project. It's a K3 That has sat for a few years. Tires are date coded 06 and tread looks like new. So, go figure. Speedometer reads 16k, but who knows. I bought a K2 new in 1972 (orange flake) and had it for a couple years until I got tired of getting beat up by Z1's, so I got one of those. Since I never turned a screw on the K2 while owning it, I have some unknowns about this K3. It's a bare frame now and will be going to the sandblaster soon to prepare for paint. I'll be posting some questions soon when I write down the random list of them. Experts out there, please understand my ignorance. Thanks, Jr.

Welcome from NC Junior !

Good Luck with the project.  Like you, in my younger days I had a '75 900 Z1B, wished I still had it.

After retirement about 3 years ago, I decided to get back into bikes and semi-restored a 750 and a 550, see my build threads in my sig.

Do you still have the Z?

Welcome from Texas.   The CB750 and the Z1 were the best bikes of the 70's and I have both.

Consider starting a thread in the "Project Shop" section so we can follow along your restoration.

Stev-o and denward17, Thanks for the responses. No, sold the Z1 after about 4 years to buy a backhoe. Ended up with the K3 project as it looked like a Z project was out of my price range. When I figure out how to post pics here, I'll get into the project shop. Later, Jr.
