Topic: Hitachi bullet terminals and connectors

Hi everyone, I want to share with you that I found a smart Japanese guy on eBay who can sell the Hitachi Hero bullet terminals and the 4 and 6 block terminals as used on our sohc’s bikes original wiring harness. This stuff is produced by Hero in Japan and marketed by Hitachi, it is the same as you can still buy from Honda but at a much lower price. I have both the connectors in honda bag and these hitachi connectors and they’re the same, on the Honda ones you can see the Hitachi/Hero sticker behind the Honda sticker.
These electrical stuff is far better than all the Chinese replicas you can find pretty everywhere now at a price that sometimes is lower than Chinese ones.

I use a LOT of the Vintage Connections' contacts and plug terminals.
They also have crimpers to die for: MIL-grade ratchet crimpers for a Honda-like cost. I use them on the gizmos I make for these bikes.

I don’t know if vintage connection sell the original Hitachi parts, I never bought from them, but before I always used connectors and terminals from Honda, and Honda sell in fact this Hitachi parts rebranded with a Honda part number sticker on them. The advantage is that buying this same parts directly from Japan is a lot cheaper than order them from Honda especially if you use a lot of terminals

How do their prices compare to Vintage Connections, would take a little work to calculate if comparing against their kits...

I paid 2,3 $ each pack of 10 terminals. I don’t know how much they’re priced at vintage connections but these are the genuine top quality ones, not replicas and can withstand the high current especially at the key switch connector

$5.49 for 25 male or female 3.5mm single bullet connectors, just the brass, nothing more. The insulators are sold separately. They don't offer them in 10 packs.
At that price, Vintage connections is selling them for $2.196/10 Plus shipping


I did search for Hitachi 3.5mm bullet connectors and Hitachi connectors and didn't find the seller or the connectors. But I am using the eBay app...which I am not fond of...at all.

Not finding anything on Japan Net Shop either.... Vintage Connections are hollow bullets..... the OEM's are solid type.

Yes very old OEM’s was solid type, these were superseded by the crimp type hollow ones. In the first picture you can see the bullet terminal now sold at Honda, in the second picture at the left top the sold by Honda spade terminal , right top the Hitachi/Hero branded terminal and as you can see they’re identical. The lower ones are made by Sumitomo

I also found one kit only.
I need separate bags of pins and sockets.

The cheap chinese can not be trusted. The socket can open up if bent just a little due to the thin flimsy metal.

Yes you’re right you can’t trust the cheap ones. To have this stuff you need to ask him because he has not listed. I’m trying to attach the Hero catalogue with the parts number

Yes he has only in list the repair kit, it’s the same kit sold by Honda times ago. To have the single part bags you need to write to him, I attached the PDF from Hero with the parts number so you can see what you need.
I had a good business with this guy, you can trust him

Yes I bought also the 6 pin block connector without the locking pin as the oem one with the terminals because I want to rebuild mine too

These seems to be the Chinese ones, you can find this box with many brands on Amazon but it’s the same, their material is thinner than genuine ones.
But if you’re located in US and you need only few pieces you can also order at a Honda.

Yes it’s a Honda bulletin, if you’re interested I attach the complete bulletin in PDF, but these parts can be ordered only from US Honda, a friend of mine that live in the US ordered that stuff for me this summer because it’s not possible to order these in Italy where I live.

If its a genuine Honda part number you should be able to order from any Honda dealer anywhere BUT you may have to buy the "packet" quantity and wait many weeks.
I ordered the US model guide by part number from a UK dealer and it arrived 4 weeks later

CMS only carry the plastic connector but not the terminals
