Lightning strikes again
« on: Today at 08:01:39 AM »
Twice in the past few years or so I have gotten lucky and scored a rare Lester wheel for my 750F. First a never used 3x18 rear for $100 shipped from a guy who thought it was a Yamaha wheel, then last year an F2/3 front for $200 all in.

I've had a search running on Ebay for "18" Lester" for several years, which is how I found the rear one for my 750. I kept the search active because I wanted to find a specific wheel, and this morning I woke up to an email for a new listing that was finally the wheel that I was looking for: an 18" rear Lester for a  GL1000. Just like the 750 wheel it is in brand new condition and never mounted. The seller knew it was for a GL, but doesn't seem to know how rare it is. I got it for $286 all in and couldn't be more thrilled.

The stock wheel is 17" and you can find a 16"  Lester easily, but the only 18" one I have ever seen was on Randakk's supercharged bike. My GL is a long term project, but I am super happy to add this to my stash for future use.

Great news Danny! I have a stock size pair (18/19) on my second F. Damn, those things are heavy!

To anyone that is reading this, I have an available pair of Lesters for the 750F. 19/16". Not new but are in good shape, just need a good cleaning and possible refinishing. Get in touch.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)
