Which black paint for Honda on generator cover?

Mine’s an early 70, not sure if satin, flat or gloss?

That’s a good question! I use gloss. Not sure I’ve ever seen the original. It’s usually completely gone……

I use Satin to split the difference.  ;D

I got testors gloss black & flat black but no satin which was my first choice…

I have twice mixed equal amounts of Testor's black gloss and black satin to get a sort of semi-gloss. I also added some more thinner so it would be less glossy and more liquid, to make it 'climb' up out of the impressions of the letters. It didn't look too bad.

This reminds me that I have some alternator covers to do, too...
