Excellent multipart (11 segments) series on the Discovery Channel. Fantastic cinematography! Gets two thumbs up from me. ;) It should be next year's winning documentary.

I watched the part on Mountains last night but missed the beginning so I didn't know it was part of an eleven part series, so thanks for the info.  It's even more spectacular if you have HD.

Last night, they showed a snow leopard chasing some type of goat/ram down the side of what was almost a sheer cliff.  At the speed they were going, it's incomprehensible how they could travel that fast and choose their path, keep their footing and not fall.  Pretty incredible.

And wide screen, both the way to go on this one. The had three segments air last night. I recall the snow leopard scenes and the whales hunting the seals, also unbelievable. They used a high-speed camera. The entire shot was 1 second in real-time, but recorded and played back it was 47 seconds long.

Agreed!  I watched it for quite a while last night.  If you didn't get a chance to see their series called "Blue Planet, Seas of Life" that was on a few years ago, it's definitely worth renting.  Same style cinematography, but all about ocean life.

Sounds like too much exposure to Dancing with them and Happy Feet. ;D

Only one small segment so far on Emperor Penguins, it was quite short compared to the rest.

I watched Mountains one and the Ocean one and I thought they were pretty good.  I like the ocean one better though. 

What was the first one, I missed it?

I got the whole series for Christmas.  I've got to say, this is the best nature documentary I have EVER seen.  The BBC out did themselves.
