Being an ex-drag racer\engine builder, that video is sweet. But the price of that style engine block isn't, $5500 and up to over $10000. And that is why I like my CB750 better than drag cars ;D
When the majority of the United States population get to be 70 years old, they will finally realize what is really important. And by then it'll be too late.

PJ, I had a couple of small pieces of billet machined last week to make swing arm extensions for one of my bikes, cost $200 for the billet and milling. :o :o :o :o

$$$$$$$, cost too much for this guy. 10 years of all of my cash had taken it's toll. There are other things for me to do for now. Down the road when I get older, I may get back into it. But for now, I'll ride my bike and see the country.

I'm in the same boat pd, spend all my hard earned money on my bikes and help a mate out.

It's our first meeting next Sunday, can't wait, been a long winter.

When you get back into it, when you are old...you'll do well. Lots of older guys in the sport seem to do well. ;D ;D ;D

That's why I am so good ::) ::) ::)...I'm millions of years old ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

wow, that was a HUGE chunk of billet.

i hung around a buddy of mine that works around CNC machines. I've seen him work on the 3 axis here at school and I never knew it was so tedious. After you design the part, then you have to run the tool paths. There lies within numerous possibilities to cut the part and depending on the complexity of the part, it could take hours. I don't even want to imagine how long it took to set that up  :-\

i'll just stick with casting the cases  :P

cool post btw

You really wouldn't want to find out that you've programmed the wrong co-ordinates on the last operation...  >:(
