I far prefer them to the later WJ that had their own integrated turn signals :-).

I saw a local ad for a Windjammer for a CB750 (although 'spozed it could be for more than a 750), priced at $50 and a 2.5 hour drive away.... I put it into my fave list and let it sit, thinkin' one day I'll just get it for fun...... looked today and the ad is gone.... might be just expired ad, if it pops up again, I maybe better just go get the thing.

I wonder what happened to his windshield? Musta been in the way of the camera...
It's an early Windjammer III version, the ABS injection-molded ones. They had the side-lights.

There's a scene in the movie where he rides the bike down an embankment. The rear tire magically changes to a knobby just before he throttles off!

That is likely the reason. They used to take windshields out of cars in old TV shows to eliminate glare and reflection, early episodes of Andy Griffith, for example.  I remember a lot of guys would take them off in the summer to get more air. I thought about trying it but wae always too lazy. I was curious what the air flow would have been like behind a sheildless Windjammer at speed.

I got to find that out during a long tour in 1977 (I think it was). A passing truck (2-lane road) pitched a big rock at mine and cracked it: the next day the crack worked across at the upright on the left side and a few inches higher on the right side and it broke off (laying in NM somewhere today, probably?). I rode (still do) with the extended visor and short shield to protect my glasses, and the upward-directed wind constantly pulled upward under the short shield like someone's hand was pulling up on my visor at speed, rotating my helmet up in front all the time above 60 MPH (but I NEVER exceeded 55 MPH, that would be illegal - no, wait...that's a sick bird...). It greatly increased fatigue, so my riding days were a little shorter on the rest of that trip.

I never watched the film, but I have a somewhat vague, semi-repressed memory of a skinny kid in a bathtub while a song about doves crying played. Some things, once seen, can't be forgotten... :(
