My rebuilt 500/4 runs!
« on: March 06, 2025, 03:09:29 PM »
Decided to do the first start and tune up on my end stand.  Started right up but discovered the dreaded cracked overflow tubes.  Made an attempt to solder them and I think it worked.  Fired right up today and got the carbs synced up.

Edit: the exhaust that came with the bike was a 4 into 1 and was completely rusted at the collector and the muffler.  So I sawzall’d the pipes off to have something to bolt to the head for the start up.  The Delkevic 4 into 4 exhaust looks nice.

Congrats! Nothing feels better. I like the set up too.
I need to try that next time, for sure.

That's the nicest-sounding 4 into 1 pipes ever!
