help with tank petcock
« on: January 22, 2026, 05:50:34 PM »
picked up a 71 CB500 and just had the tank painted.  forgot to take off the petcock and trying to find a replacement,  pretty sure its not a 71 tank. Any ideas on a dual fuel threaded petcock part no for this?

That's a 550K0/1 type tank: Honda's petcock includes a fuel filter that fits up in the hole. It is:
16950-374-671
Honda says they don't make it anymore, but you can try eBay, David Silver Spares, Common Motor, or even places like PartsNmore.com, there's a lot of those out there, still.

There's also the petcock by itself:
16951-374-671
and the fuel screen by it's self, which is still a current Honda part:
16952-341-671
See SOHC4shop.com for info about the gadgets I make for these bikes.

Stu…… That sure looks like the same size nipple on the tank as a 1977-78 Honda cb750. I wonder if they are the same?
