If you live in this region you know you are in HD and other big twin Country. Twisting Edge and I have been PMing on repair shops are resources in the area. We think it would be cool if we found other SOHC riders in the area and have some informal get togethers from time to time.

I live nearby in Bergen county NJ.  If you want to find bikers to ride with, just cross the Bear Mountain bridge on a nice Saturday or Sunday and take a ride to the top of bear mountain.  They've got them all, old junk like us, v-twins, sportbikes, old classics, etc.

I live in NYC and keep a house in Northern Dutchess/Southern Columbia.  There is a great lttle town in Litchfield County, CT called Falls Village.  On Sunday mornings bikers of all types meet up at Toymakers right in the center of the town.  I have seen everything from Bacon-Cutter Guzzi's to Classic Duc's to HD's and the atmosphere is welcoming to all bikers.  The owner is a Triumph fanatic - and a look in his barn is quite an experience.  The roads in Northern Dutchess and Columbia are Fan-Freakin'-Tastic and pretty empty of traffic - cage or otherwise.  The roads are generally in great shape and 55mph.

Every Sunday Morning.  By about 1 PM it is pretty empty - but by then you should be riding!

Gret way up:  Get on 684 North to Rte 22 N.  When you get into Pawling make a right at the first light North of the Rte 55 N entrance ramp (East Main Street).  Take into town, make a left at Gas Station (you will see a CVS).  After the RR tracks, make a right onto Charles Coleman Blvd.  This will turn into Rte 20  - Awesome Road!!!!  Follow until end (about 6 mi) and make a left.  At end of road make a right and this will take you back to Rte 22 @ Wingdale.  Make a left and continue up 22 for about 20 or so miles.  When you get into Millerton, at the interesection, make a right and follow Rte 44 East through town.  After the Ford Dealer and Car Wash you will hit the CT State Line.  Continue for about a mile and make a right on Rte 112.  Follwo for about 7 - 8 miles and you will get into Lime Rock, CT.  The track will on your right, on your left you will see a stone church, right after that church is Dugway Road - make a left.  This will bring you down along the Housatonic River - another great road.  When you are able to see the power station across the river, watch out for the suspension bridge on the right and proceed over it.  You will then wind up into Falls Village.  Look for Main Street on your left (on your right will be a red NH line Caboose).  Toymakers will be on your right side.  The parking lot is not paved, but parking is not too bad.

After you leave, take Route 7 down through West Cornwall (Look for the covered Bridge) and further South into Kent - although this is an alternate way back to Westchester.  If you guys want a great lunch place, follow Route 4 East from West Cormwall's covered bridge for about 10 - 15 miles into the Goshen, CT traffic circle.  Go 3/4 way around onto 63 North.  In about 300 ft on your left will be a sign for Nodine's Smokehouse - OUTSTANDING SANDWICHES!!!!!  Especially the smoked Roast Beef!  Other than that just wind your way around a bit and you will find no shortage of great riding.

I may be there on Sunday, so I will keep an eye out for ya'.  I would lead afterwards, but I have plans to hit the Rhinebeck Car Show on Sunday with my Dad.

Gersh, this weekend I have a guy l hired to help level out some crappy soil a guy gave me for free, you do get what you pay for I guess, so my "clean soil" has yielded 20 paving stones, 10 bricks, two water valves, a 100 lb rock, no bodies have turned up yet, but I still have one pile to move.
 I think this weekend I may be able to get in a ride to Fishkill via Rt 9 and back on Rt 9 N. I am saving this post since it looks like a cool ride. If you are buying parts in Rhineback look for a guy with a T Shirt that may say Cheapsnake on it. If he doubts you know me, he can call me. His name is Andy and he does amazing 70's Chevy restorations.

I'm in Orange County, Just the Other side of he Bear Mountain Bridge. There are some great places to Ride on this side of the River, 9W up to West Point, The Palisades to Perkins Memorial drive up to the Bear Mountain tower.

WOW it is good to know I am not alone over here. My No Leak fork seal sprung a leak, which really pisses me off.
