nba playoffs
« on: May 03, 2007, 09:52:46 PM »
I have been a Dallas Mavs fan for many years now, but I do not believe in this team anymore. They are a no substance team. The supposed MVP Dirk Nowitzki obviously is over rated. He disappears during important games, namely this one.

What a joke. I am seriously pissed! (but I'll get over it as soon as I get this bike on the road!)

we weren't  much better off down here with lazy ass shaq and poor gimpy wade
But thence came the Great Schism, when the two like tribes diverged, and the Bobbers did take the Road to Cruiserdom and the Cafe Racers did ride to Sportbikedom and they did pollute the lands along their paths with their abominable spawn of Choppers, Stuntaz and like manner of unholy douchebaggery

I've been a Warriors fan for many years. Anyone who has not watched their season unfold might easily discount them as a low-talent team that barely had what it took to make the playoffs. A timely trade, all players healthy(finally), and just a few months to gel as a team they are now the hottest team, with only San Antonio standing between them and the NBA finals( yes, I am going waaaaay out on a limb here ).

Dallas had a fantastic season and had only one team that they couldn't figure out how to beat, the Warriors. In fact, they couldn't beat them at home for two years straight. Why Avery Johnson couldn't see this and decided to sit Dirk and Terry? in the last game of the regular season, when he COULD have knocked the Warriors out of the playoffs with a win, is beyond me. Why Cuban let Steve Nash go, when it was obvious that Dirk was great BECAUSE of this pairing is also beyond me.

Many broadcasters overlook the Warriors. For years I have been listening to Kobe-Dirk-Hamilton-"insert star player here"  apologists talking about what a bad game their favorite buddy is having, when they should just be able to whip the snot out of these "nothing" Warriors. Never a word that the Warriors were playing good that night. Charles Barkley wearing a yellow "We Believe" t-shirt, after predicting that Dallas would win the series in 5 even after the opening loss, is sweet justice for this fan. When you watch those commercials for the NBA playoffs do you see a Warriors jersey in any of them? The frickin' Toronto Raptors(no offense, Martini ;) ) are shown but not the Warriors? C"MON!

Not trying to rub salt in the wounds of any Dallas fans. Just trying to say that just 'cause the Warriors have been overlooked does not mean that they are not a very good team right now and deserve the series win, not because Dirk did not show up, but because the Warriors finally did. Dirk will take a lot of heat for this loss, but I believe he is a very good player that deserves better than Avery Johnson and Mark Cuban.

The Cavs need to get past the Nets still. They're looking a bit tired. But I'm still a fan.

You know the guy Memo Okure on the Jazz.  Since the Pistons traded him in 05, he and the jazz have not lost one game to the pistons in the regular season.  Thats gotta be a good feeling for that dude, he wins a championship with the team that trades him and is undefeated by the same team.

It's going to be a good matchup but I think the Spurs will edge em out in the west.

And the suns and spurs series is unbeleivable, they are seriously batteling.  They're the last 2 teams that I thought would get so physical.

Had to jump in here, excuse me please.
Speaking of Pistons.....
I just feel sorry for Ben Wallace.
I mean you know, as sorry as I can feel for a gifted millionaire athlete who plays for a team I love to hate...
Is he learning that money, after all, isn't everything?

Yeah man I care too.

...lebron kept it pretty close monday night...i didn't have much faith donell marshall was gonna hit that last shot...lj should have held onto it and either scored, or get fouled a go to the ft line.  either way its impressive the cavs went into detroit and kept it that close...we'll see what happens tonight...

They don't play until Thursday.
Yeah it was sloppy, I don't think Billups thought they'd press him that hard. too many turnovers.
Your right the cavs could have won if LJ took it to the rack.  but who knows he was off that night, 10 points, playoff low for him.  Some may argue it was our sweet D? ;D

...it was the 'right' thing to do to pass the ball, donelle was wide open, and the shot would have won the game...
