question about baffles for exhaust
« on: May 17, 2007, 09:32:17 pm »
I am in the last stages of getting my CB500 on the road. I installed a 4 - 1 exhaust system I picked up online. The pipes are black but the muffler  canister is silver - and not very attractive.

What I would like to do is find baffles that insert into the pipe. It ends just below and behind the footpegs. Are baffles workable for use in header pipes this short? Would this affect performance adversely?

I thought of tracking down a different style canister, but they seem so damned expensive. Are baffles like I am seeking very expensive as well?

Anyone with experience with these, please pipe in with your input!

Btw, I will be rejetting the carbs because in addition to the 4 - 1 set up, I am using individual air pods.

Here are a couple pics of some baffles offered online? Are these type worth the trouble and expense? Anyone? Thx!
