Kickstands and stoppers
« on: May 22, 2007, 08:04:08 AM »
I have a 71 CB750 K1 that was lowered and came with a shorty kickstand (cut and welded). I wanted to replace it because I have been bringing the bike back to its original shape. So, I bought a used kickstand on eBay from a 74 CB750 (same part ID number as the '71). I installed it and it doesn't lay up against the rubber stopper on the exhaust. So, my questions are 1) can someone measure the length of their kickstand? (one that bumps up against the stopper) 2) there are 2 rubber stoppers on the exhaust (rectangular and a circle) Which is used for the kickstand and which is for the centerstand?

Hopefully, I can figure out if I have the correct kickstand or maybe I will have to get a searchin' for another used one. Anyone know if they sell new kickstands? I haven't been able to find one. David Silver said they are discontinued.

As usual, await the excellent advice and help that I usually get here on this forum.
