Tach and Speedo ring replacement
« on: May 22, 2007, 10:29:39 PM »
I need to replace the rubber rings that go separates the tach and speedo gauges and their housings, the little buggers are crusty and dont dampen any vibrations. Does anyone know where I can get replacements?

What bike? David Silver Spares has "Speedometer" and "Tachometer" "mounting rubbers" for the 550 - I assume these are what would be required... unfortunately there is no pic to go with the description on their site... could always e-mail them I guess  :)

Mine were doing this as well. I opted to go to Ace Hardware and picked up some thin single sided insulation tape (1/4" thick) that is used on house windows and doors to fill gaps and what not. It was just over $2.00 and I haven't had a vibration issue since. It is also weather proof.

Let me try that first before going to DSS - converting $ to pounds gives my wallet a headache PS: nice avatar

Pounds is expensive. It's a bit more than double U.S. currency I think. My avatar, that is Reon Kadena and 100% Japanese goodness. She's my future wife. She just doesn't know it yet :p

Try Bikebandit.  I'm pretty sure I've seen them on their website.
