Dyna Plug Wire question
« on: June 03, 2007, 10:12:02 AM »
OK, installing dyna 3ohm coils today.
Got to the part where i need to make the plug wires..
Theres a little gold clip, with a small hole in one side. Do I strip the casing on the wire back, and solder the wire through this hole? Then clamp on the clip?
Thanks

You are correct!  I bought the Dyna kit (ignition/coils/plug wires) and I didn't solder mine but now that I think about it I probably should have.  I haven't experienced any problems, however.

Have fun! ;)

Prost!

I have the DYNA solid copper wires, and I didn't solder them either.  They're awesome.

I soldered them. Between the new dyna coils and installing 110 main jets (as opposed to 120's, which were too rich for the hm341's), my flat spot in the throttle is totally gone.
Fun stuff.

You can solder them but you don't have to. Just strip the cable end about 1/4" and bend the copper wire back then slide the terminal on so the copper wire folds under it opposite the split and squeeze the opening closed with pliers.

I had a solder gun. I have solder. I figured I may as well solder them. So I did. Took all of 7 minutes, and it's likely a better connection.
But yeah, Love the new coils.
