oil change - oil won't drain from the reservoir
« on: June 08, 2007, 08:07:54 PM »
whiskey
tango
foxtrot?

Do I just have to keep kicking the engine over via kickstart?  I read something about an in-line check valve that may be keeping the oil from getting to the crankcase.  I kicked it over a few times and used the starter too.  However, the dribble rate just increases slightly...no steady stream and the reservoir is still half full? whiskey tango????

Im not trying to be a smartass, but "HUH?"    I hope it's not sludge (unlikely)     I presume you opened the drainplug on the tank, If it didnt drain, it was empty. if sludge. run a wire into the fitting.

Remove drain plug from oil pan.
Remove oil filter.
Drain oil tank.

That's all it should take.
No.
