« on: June 17, 2007, 09:17:24 AM »
Ok so i got myself a quandry here...my stock 75 750F fuel tank is pleasantly shot!
I have an opportunity to but a 750F tank from an 82.
So I'll have an 82 tank with a 75 frame,
The million dollar question is - will it fit? with no/minor modifications?
Help me out guys!

yeah, I've got the same deal going. Lots of DOHC F tanks on ebay, but the SOHC tanks are coming up short.

Most usually stick to sohc tanks and then switching the seat if need be. Best you could do is fit your tank back on and measure how it sits and then measure the mount locations, then see if the seller can do that too. Might give you an idea but I dont know if many sellers are willing to do any work, most just want to move things out as fast as possible. Maybe check in your area for a salvage yard for bikes. probably the best way to go if you can.
