Needle Jet Removal 627B (500/4)
« on: June 20, 2007, 11:55:07 AM »
 :-[ (embarrassed)

I've carefully rebuilt my 627B carbs with new o-rings from BryanJ. They're OK and definitely better - but there's still a hesitation when pulling away at 2000-3000 revs.

Now, looking carefully at the diagram in my Haynes manual, I see that there's ANOTHER JET!! (oops)

I've read around TT and BryanJ on removing these and the general consensus seems to be that they are driven out with a wooden drift.  The question is - has anyone ever done this ??

Experience please.

Hey Steve -

I just did this about two weeks ago. I used a
plastic knitting needle I found in an expedition near
the south edge of the garage. A chopstick would work
just as well I'll bet. They push out quite
easily once the main jet is removed of course.
Push them down from the slider end.
Bikes parked out front mean good chicken-fried steak inside.
