Slimey Crud Run
« on: April 06, 2005, 08:50:15 PM »
Just a reminder to midwest riders that the spring Slimey Crud Run is coming up 5/1/05 in Leland and Pine Bluff, Wisconsin ( just west of Madison ) . Lots of exotic and vintage bikes. Great roads too. Most people arrive by 11 AM.  I'll be there on a restored black K-0 with an Illinois license plate so look me up.

Just wondering how long the ride (run) is.  I have to ride maybe 60-70 miles just to get there from west suburban Chicago area.  Where you from? If I can get my cafe' bike running good enough by then, I may be there.

I'm planning on coming down from North Central Wisconsin.  I may just head to Leland and check out the other rides.  It's about 160 miles from my place to Pine Bluff, so we'll see what time I hot the road.  I'll bring the '79 650 in the factory 2-tone 70's brown if I get the sponginess out of the front brakes.  Otherwise I'll be on my '99 Kawasaki Drifter.

Look for me, I'll be the guy with a leather jacket and helmet.

I won't be on the CB650.  I just opened up the master cylinder, no wonder the brakes were spongey.  I'll be replacing that, looks like the seal and diaphram are shot.

Steve - I am in Sterling, Illinois about 120 miles straight west of Chicago. You are welcome to join us for the ride up, but it would be out of your way. The "event" lasts about 5 hours ( approx. 11AM to 4PM ) so its worth the trip. It's mostly just a gather / talk / look at other bikes thing.

Hey Sterling2,
I'm really looking forward to tomorrow's run IF the weather will cooperate (and the bike will run good enough).
I'm wondering if you would be going through Rochelle, IL by any chance?
Maybe we can meet there in the morning at the BP station at I-35 and Rte. 64?
Just a thought.

What I meant to say was I-39 and Rte. 64 (NORTH of Rochelle).
