Polishing Stainless Steel?
« on: June 30, 2007, 04:34:25 PM »
Bought an Enduro, and it's equipped with Stainless Steel front and rear fenders. They are not rusted or dented, just dull. What's the best way to polish them up? Not to a "Chrome" luster, but not dull. Can it be done with elbow grease or do I need a bench-mounted polishing wheel? What's the best compound to use?

You can use a wheel mounted on a drill. I would start with red rouge and work to white. It will have a smooth luster.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

Clean them first with a stainless cleaner like "Sparkle". (comes in a spray can)
Then you may only need Simichrome and some old fashioned elbow grease.
