Well, the CB500T is a 2-cylinder 4 stroke TWIN.
The CB500K and CB500F are SOHC 4-cylinders.
The difference between F and K models is a little more subtle, I am sure someone else will post more info...
But if all original, the K will have 4 into 4 pipes, and the F will have 4 into 1 pipes. F series are designated "SuperSport"
Perhaps there is also a slight diference in heads/valves ??? I don't know the technical details. :P

I *think* ::) That the K is more of a "touring" style and the F is more a "sporting" style

Also, the 500T is a 450 that has been given a longer stroke and had some upgrades made to it. It was a last ditch effort to keep the DOHC twin alive and was 2 yrs I believe. (75' - 76')

Besides the difference in the exhaust systems, there was a difference in the footrest (at least the right one), brake pedal and kickstarter. Not sure beyond that. ;)

                                  Later on, Bill :) ;)

The differences between K & F are lower handlebars, different seat, tank, and I think rear fender.

That would totally explain the reason I cant find a single part for my 76 500T.

It would also explain why I cant seem to find anyone else in a SOHC forum with my bike  ;D

What about this K1 and K2 stuff?

Just finished a 500T restoration after doing 2 cb550s. 95% if the parts on a 500t are either cb450 or cb550. Parts are pretty easy to find keeping that in mind. Sold the 500t for $2700, so there seems to be a good market for a well restored ones. What parts are you looking for?

Up until around '74 or '75, Honda wasn't in sync with the US in regards to model year.  If they made a major change(like they do now from one year to the next), they would up the number after K or F.  And they might do it at any time, not just at the end of the year.

^Thanks Steve, I looked there but didnt see anything. Ill go look again.

Grumburg, Im actually looking for the handlebar controls. The previous owner clipped all the wires going to the controls and drilled holes in the housings leaving the shavings in them. A big, greasy, grimmy, metal flaked, electrical mess.

6 days left. Don't know if CL pipes will fit, but CB 450s will.

Unless it was different in other countries, there is no such thing as a CB500F.  They introduced the SuperSport version of the 550 in 1975 calling it the CB550F.

When the 500/4 was launched in 72 (UK), it was known as CB500F due to the 500Four sidepanel badge. I've always referred to them as 500F (hence the username)

In reality it's a CB500K
