No PJ, I reckon they would have used clip-ons, but I seriously doubt they would have considered clubmans. More weight, and no advantage. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Hi Terry,
Several race classes in Britain and US don't state type of bars, just that stock mounting must be used, thats why clubman bars were originally made. (I have some FIM rule books somewhere 'safe')
 Otherwise you probably correct, clip-on's would be used if rules allowed them but I think if they are used bike moves into a different class where its probably not competitive eg CB500 mixing it with RG500 or TZ500, etc, only 1/3 to 1/2 the power of the two strokes
