Hi all - I just got my hands on a nice 1974 CB350F. I was tearing the carbs apart this evening and found that a previous owner must have fiddled with one of the bowls at one point as I found the leaf spring (the funny shaped, bent metal piece that rests on the bottom of the float bowl and holds up the main jet) is missing. Any thoughts? Anyone out there have an extra leaf spring sitting around that they'd like to send my way??? Can you still buy them from the Honda shop or is there anyone out there making them? I'd like to rebuild the carbs, but am kind of stuck without that darn leaf spring. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much in advance.

I have the same problem, I stripped the carbs down on my CB550F as I thought the main jet o rings needed replacing, they did, but on the second carb I found the leaf spring in two parts.

I have tried a number of breakers with no luck, can anyone help?

If you have a spare leaf spring (it retains the main jet) I would be most grateful, happy to pay postage and a fair price, I am in the UK.

regards

I had a missing spring like you described when I rebuilt the carbs this past winter on My CB-350F.  I searched high and low for them, Honda dealers couldn't help out.  Maybe the 550 ones will fit.

I got lucky and someone was selling stainless steel springs on Ebay, which I purchased.  As a result I have three spares that if somone needs I will be glad to help out.

I am still looking for a tool tray and cover to complete my restoration, can anyone help with that?

I have no idea what they are worth(the leaf springs) just let me know and I will send them out if you cover my postage and trouble.  I think I just can put them in a padded envelope, with minimal postage.
