What kind of tanks are those? I like the "organic" shape they have.

The violett and the blue one are from a company called "ES" and made of steel, the black one is made by Habermann and made of glass fiber + resin.

I think both companies are out of business for years!

Don't think so Don. Looks all wrong.
You better sell it to me so you don't get laughed at.

Cheers

ahh Jimmy I don't know why people keep telling me it's not possible to find honest friends in internet forums!
The funny part is: I got this tank from ebay and it was advertised as "fuel tank for youngtimer". Without the words "Cafe Racer" or "honda cb" nobody found the tank and I got it for 130 Euros. There was a second tank from the same company on ebay advertised as "fuel tank for Honda cb500/550" in a slightly better condition but with the key missing which got sold for 505 Euros!! The only difference is that I have to fabricate some mounting points. But with 375 Euros left I can make them from gold ;-)

Nice find! Good for you for looking deep into the ebay abyss.
It’s always rewarding to fine a great item that has been poorly listed.
I’m looking forward to seeing more of your project.

All in all eBay is a big pond of motherfuc*ers trying to scam you but sometimes there is just this one special item you need.

I am looking forward too especially because my new wheels should arrive next week. In austria it's really hard to find shops doing work like powder coating or selling parts for our beloved SOHC/4 so everything is delayed by shipping things to Germany and back.

Thats my second option regarding the fuel tank:

and that's the old bastard who will get the bike as a birthday present when I finished it (which he doesn't know yet):

I will come back to you as soon as I made my decision which one to keep but I have to inform you the black one is made from fiberglass and not 100% symmetric if I see it right.

best regards

PS: If you want to buy the old bastard we can work out a good deal for sure!

Lol, well shipping a tank to the US might be easier than shipping an old guy. But if it's a package deal we'll see what we can work out   :D

I also vote for the blue tank - cleaner, smoother look.
