My first (and last) 400 FOUR
« on: August 15, 2007, 05:35:14 AM »
Hi
I've had the same old 400/4 since 1981, my first real bike, (can't include the C90).  It got nicked in 1985, just before a Scotland trip and I had it back from the police 2 years later - crashed and burned.
It then gathered dust in my mates garage for 15 years.  In the meantime, I had another 400/4, a 550/4, a 400/4, a 400 superdream, a 250 superdream (rat bike) a GS1000E, another 250 soop, a GS850 which I passed my advanced bike test.  I had to sell that when I moved house, so I was bikeless for 5 years until...
I bought a basket case 400/4 which provided some bits to do up my original 400FOUR.  I got it on the road 2 years ago after a lengthy and expensive restoration.
.  I just need to whip the engine out and.....

If you can't see light at the end of the tunnel, go down the tunnel and light the chuffing thing yourself
