Not sure what the stock mesh looks like since I don't have a 750. However, I can offer 2 suggestions from the automotive "tuner" world.
Gutter mesh is available from Home depot or Lowes for less than $10 if I remember correctly. It has a diamond pattern and I believe it is made of aluminum. Another option is wire mesh used for paper machet. It comes in rolls and is available in craft stores like Michaels or A.C. Moore. It comes in a variety of colors, pattern size, and thickness. Price depends on the style and amount you get. Look for 40-50% coupons for these stores to save a lot. This is thinner than gutter mesh so not as strong but I thought it gave a much cleaner look in my air dams.
Either once can be cut in small strips and attached with whatever glue or equivalent (hot glue, fiberglass resin, liquid nail, etc.) Wear leather gloves to avoid tearing up your hands. It's like barbed wire when cutting. I have used both items on my cars. The gutter mesh will eventually dull so a coat of clear or a contrasting paint may be advised. I didn't have the wire mesh in long enough (totaled the car) to see if it dulls as well.
Someone sells the precut mesh on Ebay? I see a money making opportunity here! How much do they sell for there? I could start molding them to shape and could even throw in a small hot glue gun and probably still beat the price! Maybe I need to do a search for a 750 side cover.
