« on: August 21, 2007, 07:09:35 PM »
does anyone know of a source for 750k aftermarket side panels with recessed badge area? Other than David Silver? I seem to remember someone posting a stateside source, but i cant seem to find it.

LPM plastics makes replica side covers (complete with indentations for emblems).

Two problems, however...

They used to be on Ebay and I don't see them now and they are in UK I believe.  I think shipping was reasonable-ish if I remember correctly.  I liked them because it sounded like the material was much more durable than originals.

(I have the Maier covers.  I'll just paint them to match the bike and not put emblems on them)

Maier is the common one. They are ok if you are not picky on looks. Not that they look bad, they just do not quite look the same. They are decent quality and paintable.

I saw the Maier side panels but didn't think badges would look right installed without the the recessed area. LPM still offers side panels; 68$ shipped to the states.

Johny, I got the David Silver covers. One phone call, helpful staff, timely delivery, good product, fair price. I dunno how much more they might be since the dollar drop. And.... badge recesses.

I also have the Maiers and I put my badges on them. No indents and you have to drill your own holes. They dont look as perfect as originals and don't have pushpins (screw on). If you aren't building a stocker, they are OK and cheap.
