Topic: Hello from Philadelphia and boy do I need help!

First hello to everyone here I am so happy to have found this forum loads of information that I need. Second here is my problem I have a 1978 Honda CB400T1 and one of the gaskets is leaking oil (not a lot but it is noticeable bike still runs great). I would like to repair this before it gets any worse but I need a few answers first.
To replace the engine gaskets to I need to remove the engine completely? 
Does any one happen to live in the Philadelphia area and wanna come and take a look?
I have a great garage with a bike lift (and every tool you would need to repair a metric bike) so maybe we could trade something if you can help me.
And lastly does anyone know where I can download a 1978 Honda CB400T1 manual? I can get the cb400f with know problem. I would even be willing to pay for the download.

I would just try to take the head off before you pull the motor. You'll know right away if its going to work. Just tear into it. It's only a twin, unlike the 400f which is a four.

I found with the 78' CB400T that I had and restored, it was easier to drop the motor since it's incorporated with the frame.  If your well equipped (toolage), it's the quickest motor I've ever removed next to dirtbikes.  Good time to check the right side main bearing too.

You can strip the whole top end off without removing the motor
(1) BE carefull with the head bolts as they go right through and srem into the crankcase.
(2) make note of where all washer are, I seem to remember some were "sealing" washers.
(3) if the cam chain is bad that is a complete strip as you cant link it
(4) Try Ebay UK for a manual as we had the CB250T(Dream) and CB250N(Superdream) for our learner laws and they are identical except bore/stroke

all good advice anyone here in Philadelphia wanna give me a hand? I got a bike lift you can use to work on your own bike with plenty of tools to use.

If anyone has a cb400t manual that I could scan the pages for them and then give you a CD copy?

I actually have a hard copy of the manual, as well as an original owner's manual. The OM is is poor shape, but I could scan a few pages for you if there is something specific that you want.
