Everything runs great when the bike is warm. 
First thing in the morning starting procedure;  full choke and a thumb on the starter for a long time, them I push the choke down some, then I crack the throttle a little, and after a bit the engine starts to spin, or catch, if you will.  Then i can open the throttle more and slowly push the choke all the way down.  I'm using pods.

So- this is obviously carburetion.  Do I need to enrichen something? Change the float?  What?

Hullo Ernie. I'm running pods on the 750. I found the stock idle circuit (40's) to be a little lean for 'em, but a small adjustment of the air screws (richer) fixed it (until I go up on idle jet).

Pods flow a lot more air than the OEM filter Ernie, so 99% of bikes will run lean when you add pods. My Suzuki GS1000S runs so lean without the filter, it will not "pull" under load, past idle speed.

You'll need to adjust your idle mixture screws, (If you've got them, I know that some US-market bikes had the mixture screws blanked off by the EPA, so you might need to source bigger pilot jets) and even though you say it's running fine when warm, I'd at least do a plug chop to check the mixture, because if it's too lean, it'll melt holes in your pistons, and kill your engine.

If it is running too lean, you may need to raise the slide needles, or go for bigger main jets. Cheers, Terry. ;D

I am running pods on my bike as well. Mine runs way rich on start up. I will close the choke full, thumb the starter. The bike roars to life, but I have to keep revving it until I can open the choke up about half way.

Air adjust screws are set as standard. Pilot jets are stock and mains (I think) are 125's (might be 120's... can't remember off the top of my head. Either way, I have to drop them down one size one of these days as it is running a little rich throughout the throttle range).

Quick question: How do your plugs look? Rich? lean? Done any plug chops lately?
