Topic: Well, my CB360 was running, she died suddenly

Can anyone explain this? I'd been runing it around the front of my house, it was back firing and having issues, finally I went and bought some new plugs the same kind that were in, NGK 8EAS  I think it was? That helped alot, she was now running much better, but still some backfireing, probably from all the unburned fuel in the pipes of the one cyl, I don't know? I decided I need to run it around the block, she pulled away strong and had lots of power finally, but then stopped suddenly, all electrical is out?? I tested the battery, its 12.7 volts. What could be the issue? Do you think the rectifier went out? I checked the 3 fuses, they are all good

I picked up a new set of plugs for the CB350 at lunch today, now I'm hesitating on puting them in. The existing plugs are dark, somewhat dirty and have worn electodes, but the bike runs great! Right after I put the new plugs in the 360, is right after she died. So I'm temped to not fix a bike that is running perfect at this point.

NGK doesn't make an 8EAS...

Do you mean B8ES?

Replace fuses just to be safe. If there is no electrical whatsoever, I don't think the rectifier is the issue.

thanks, Mlinder, I sure hopes its just the fuses or another electrical relay somewhere, normally when fuses blow the glass gets cracked and they fog up. Thats from from cb750 anyway. The plug part # was from memory, I'm sure thats not the issue. Its B8ES

another possibilty is the voltage regulator, I don't know for sure, I wish I did, that parts is 95 bucks, the rectifier is 97

It sounds like a fuse is out, combined with your plugs getting wet. If your rectifier or regulator were not working, your battery would be dead--not 12.7 volts.

Thanks Chris, I was talking with a motorcycle buddy over lunch. I told him about the rats nest of wires under the tank that were not covered by the rubber boot properly, I also noticed one was loose and could not find the other end, he thinks its a loose wire somewhere there, I begining to think he's is right, I'll look further tonight

Just because the fuses may look good doesn't necessarily mean they are.

Mine would blow the main fuse cause the starter switch was jacked up.
Yes fuses can look good but be bad.

She's all fixed now, thanks for the advice, I'm sure glad it wasn't a more expensive problem, one of of the 3 fuses was blown, it was just hard to see it was blown.

I also installed a new petcock last night to replace the old one that leaked.

The fuses don't just blow, sometimes they vibrate apart and look perfect
