question on wiring
« on: October 03, 2007, 07:58:28 PM »
Anyone know where I can get a new wiring harness? The main power wire on bike wasnt working because when i went to shut off at the key it stayed on. So I found a hot wire off the plastic slide connector stripped the red hot wire and attatched another wire to it and run it to the posative side terminal. Then the  when i turn key off it shuts off. So somewhere in the harness its messed up going from switch over the main frame.

You do have a K, the E on the engine serial number is normal.

I would suggest that you download a copy of the shop manual for your bike and (hopefully) therein will be a wiring diagram. Use the wiring diagram to help troubleshoot the electrical problem(s) you are having. A far easier thing to do than try to source a whole wiring harness I would imagine!   :o

Here is a link for the manual download: http://www.sohc4.us/forums/index.php?topic=17788.0
