How'd Ya Like To Take This CL77 Flat Tracker For A Spin?
« on: October 05, 2007, 06:53:11 PM »

       I'd want to be 1st in line (and 2nd...and 3rd.....and... ;D

It's got a Dream motor with a CL72 Scrambler head (dual carbs)  with K & N filters. The frame is a CL72 (250) Scrambler with the rear section along with the swingarm and then built up as a hardtail. Rear fender is a generic BSA front fender. K & N flat track bars, Harley seat and light. Ridged alloy rims. One from a Yamaha XS650 and who knows where the other one came from (that was the info from Honda305.com) Gas tank is from a mid 70's Honda CB100. Front fork,  triple clamps and front brake are from an early 70's Bultaco Pursang with spacers in the forks to limit travel to about 3". Paint is silver and safety orange.

That's one sharp looking bike. I'm not wild about the license plate location but I'd ride that anywhere. Nice find bill, and you do find a lot of good bike articles and great info. ;D ;D

Funny you should post this Bill. I just took this 1966 305 in trade for a new replica Dunstall fairing. I really didn't need it and wasn't sure what I would do with it, but who can pass up a good trade like that. The customer found it in his neighbors barn a couple months ago. The tires hold air, the motor turns free, the carbs are clean and operate smoothly, and the pieces missing in the photo come with the bike. Hmmm, maybe it will become a dirttracker too.

Thanks, I'm always on the look out for them and I like to share. ;)
Yeah, I don't particularly care for the license plate location either. Makes it look like an after thought to me. Not much for the roughness of a hardtail (maybe because MY tail isn't to fond of it) but, this one has a very nice look to it. 8) ;) Now, if you had a "Sprung" rear hub like the old late 40's or early 50's Triumph (can't remember what year(s) they had those hubs), that would take some of the roughness out of it. ;D Of course, if you could find one, it would cost you big bucks!

                                   Later on, Bill :) ;)
