I've collected and sketched the more common installations you've shown me: I'm hoping this takes less server space than all the pictures. If it's not clear, PM me and I'll e-mail you the original scan.

At first I was going to say send the scan because when you click on the image, the enlarged version is pretty fuzzy. However, if anyone needs it, right-click, do a 'save as' and the downloaded file is quite clear when viewed on your local system.

Hey Mark!
Hope all is well there...
During the quickie restoration of my k7 I relocated the box from on top of the oil tank so I could reinstall my little tool  tray...
There is a little cubby hole right behind the battery box and the rear fender liner that the unit will fit in nicely...I'll send you some picts!
Bike runs great with the box!!!!
Hope to ride to Birmingham on Saturday for the Vintage Festival at the Barber Museum.
Tank is in primer!!!! hope to shoot some color TODAY!

What color are you doing?

I'm going to add that installation to this image, soon. That's a great, out-of-the way spot, wish I'd thought of it!

Yeah...the engine lift works great to hold the frame for paint! Move it up or down as required.
It's all black here...having fits with the tank decals though...I can't seen any possible way to make the stripes match up on the two pieces...I think I'll call reproduction today and see if maybe they are cut wrong? Or maybe I'm just missing something???
The spot where I have the box works out nice...I just used industrial Velcro to hold it secure...it's a pretty tight fit and can't really go anywhere anyway!

Mark, I installed mine under battery box on CB750k oriented exactly as you have illustrated. Instead of bracket I used two high quality tie-wraps and positioned in outboard channels of heat sink. Heat sink is facing down and tie-wraps are positioned under rubber battery base just as you have done with bracket. Also, removing 3 screws to oil tank gave me JUST enough space to snake the unit and tie-wraps into place.

Your unit is an excellent, cost effective solution... crisp, sharp, clean firing across RPM band has raised the bar on my state of tune. I am very pleased! Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback, Ted! That's a great idea, using the heatsink fins to capture those units with tyraps like that. Slick installation!

I'm hearing from several users that their bikes start like mine now: just a touch of the button or half a swing at the kickstarter. All the easier on the "equipment" over time! One fella from Denmark wrote to say he was regularly over-revving his CB550  past 10K RPM now, never did that before. I hope he doesn't blow it up!
