It looks just like the one in the current Japanese lineup:
http://www.honda.co.jp/motor-lineup/cb750/special/index.html

Retails for 766,500.00 JPY =  6,679.45 USD
Shipping to US from Nagoya, Japan = 3,500 USD (most US ports, some less)
Grand total (not including taxes and license) = 10, 179.45

If I bought that bike the first thing I would do is pull the engine and bring it up to Mike. ;D

I really like the looks, and the DOHC engine probably has more hp, but I don't think I'd pay $10,179 bucks for a cb750 even if it is new. :(

For that kind of money I'd go for the cb1100  ;D ;D ;D ;D

If you look at the video closely and stop it in spots you can see the CB750 in there. The frame is very similar. What they have done with throws you off is making the tank turn down sharply to meet the low rider seat. If you recurved the tank like a 78 and change the seat, and used larger sidecovers.  Look at the fork tubes and how they attach at the top, even the lowers are very close. Either you are looking at the next generation CB750 or you are looking at the platform they will build the replica from next year for the anniversary. Having a DOHC is probably a given. With today's advances in engine design the new CB750 could have 100 or more HP. I bet those carbs are fakes and will hide injectors the same way Triumph does.

Nah, that's just the old CBX750 engine that we got here 20 years ago, I bet they haven't fixed all the faults it had that killed it off in the marketplace all those years ago. Personally, I think this is just a cynical attempt to recoup some of their production costs that the CBX750 model lost all those years ago. The Japanese really are a patient lot.

If you blokes aren't aware, the DOHC air cooled engines, with the exception of the virtually "hand built" CB1100R's, were more mechanically fragile than the SOHC F2/F3, with terrible electrics, and "flopped", sales wise, because of a reputation for unreliability.

The 1980's was a nightmare period for Honda with one "flop" after another, (the VF series, which immediately followed the DOHC's were rubbish right up until the VFR750) and Honda even considered scrapping it's motorcycle arm and concentrating on car manufacturing, due to poor motorcycle sales figures, worldwide. Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

The carbs are probably throttle bodies with injectors in each one.
I'm waiting to see what happens cause I may sell the F2 and buy a new one ;).
Looks like I need a bigger gun to hunt the duck with.

This suppoused "CB750 Special" is nothing more than a revamped CB Seven Fifty, that has been selling in Europe for at least the last 15 years. I hope to get me one as soon as the price drops to 1.000 euro or so. It lacks the aggresive looks of modern bikes, but with three disc brakes and hydraulic tappets adjustment -as well as good amount of power- it makes a great all-rounder bike for a low price. For those of you who doesn't know, the Seven Fifty is the sibling of the american Nighthawk, but the styling is slightly different and the Nighthawk has rear drum brake.
